Born in Honduras, he took early career inspiration from his father, a physician, and his aunt, who became one of the first female physicians in the region and developed an interest in medicine for its potential to create positive change for patients and their families. Dr. Raudales earned a Bachelor of Science in 1970 and attended the University of Honduras School of Medicine, graduating summa cum laude in 1979 with a Doctor of Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has pursued extensive continuing education, including a 2016 American Heart Association nephrology and hypertension ASH specialist certification. Before devoting himself exclusively to medicine, Dr. Raudales served in the United States Army for ten years, stepping down in 1992 at the rank of Major. By the late 1980s, he was a well- established provider and leader in the El Paso, Texas medical community. He founded El Paso Kidney Specialists in 1987, and he remains active in the practice as a consultant and nephrologist. In addition to his nephrology practice, Dr. Raudales took on many administrative and executive leadership roles at hospitals and medical centers throughout the 1990s. From 1991 until 2001, he served as co-chair of the Sierra Providence Health Network and medical director of the Acute Dialysis Sierra Medical Center. In 1998, Dr. Raudales became chief of staff at Sierra Medical Center, beginning an affiliation that would lead him to serve as chair of the department of internal medicine from 2001 until 2003. Dr. Raudales has continued to work with Sierra Providence Health Network in various capacities, acting as medical director of transplant services from 1999 until 2001 and as a co-chair of the pharmacy and therapeutics committee since 2003. He has been the medical director of Central City Dialysis since 1993 and was named chief of staff of Providence Memorial Hospital in 1997 and 2008. As a clinical and administrative expert, Dr. Raudales was a member of the Dallas end-stage renal disease network’s medical review board
