110 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine MEDICINE, HEALTH CARE AND WELLNESS With over three decades of experience to his credit, Dr. Arnett Klugh III has cultivated a fulfilling career as a boardcertified pediatric neurosurgeon, specializing in academia and medicine. In 2020, he became an associate professor and the division chief of pediatric neurosurgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he oversees the pediatric neurosurgery residency program and serves as a provider in a level one trauma center. Prior to the onset of his career, he honorably served in the United States Marine Corps from 1988 to 1990 and the United States Navy for the following 25 years. Dr. Klugh subsequently began his education at the United States Naval Academy, where he earned a BS in chemistry in 1994. He then continued his studies at the Baylor College of Medicine, ultimately achieving an MD in 1998. Afterward, he completed residencies in neurosurgery and critical care between 2000 and 2007 at the Walter Reed Medical Center, the University of New Mexico and Stanford University. In 2007, Dr. Klugh was named a pediatric neurosurgery fellow at the Stanford University School of Medicine, where he spent a year as a clinical instructor while training at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. Afterward, he became the chief of pediatric neurosurgery at the Naval Medical Center San Diego in 2008. In this role, he helped develop the program to meet the needs of patients and their families while also creating residency opportunities for the next generation of providers. As a leader in his specialty, Dr. Klugh has published numerous articles and case studies. Furthermore, he remains active as a fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and a member of the Neurosurgical Society of America. In light of his accomplishments, he credits much of his success to his faith, family and early military experiences. He advises others interested in careers in science and medicine to set ambitious goals and operate with a patient-first mindset.
