She hopes her daughter can become the best at whatever she chooses and that her voice will matter. Furthermore, Ms. Betha hopes all those who follow her path will see themselves reflected in leadership and know they belong. Her story is one of lifting as she climbs, mentoring young professionals, advocating for women and people of color in tech, and utilizing her platform to educate and inspire. Ms. Betha’s vision is to become a chief information officer and to leave a legacy where innovation, education and empowerment go hand in hand, paving the way for the leaders of tomorrow. Alicia A. Betha’s ascent in the technology sector is a story of ambition, resilience and purposeful leadership. She has become a catalyst for digital transformation, process optimization and innovation, all while breaking barriers as a Black woman in a field where representation still lags. Partly inspired by her late aunt, Dr. Laury A. Betha — a pioneering attorney whose drive and intellect set a powerful example — Ms. Betha learned that education and perseverance could open doors. As a first-generation college graduate on her maternal side, she earned a BS in computer science at SUNY Brockport, where she also championed diversity as the vice president of the organization for students of African descent. Today, she serves as the director of agile product management at USAA. Ms. Betha’s professional journey is distinguished by transformative achievements, including spearheading automation initiatives at Sallie Mae that significantly enhanced operational efficiency and compliance. As she is currently pursuing a DBA at Wilmington University, she is channeling her expertise and leadership experience into advancing research, teaching and mentorship within the business and technology sectors.
