His research, produced in collaboration with Micah Goldwater, was eventually published in the influential journal Cerebral Cortex. In light of these accomplishments, Mr. Giron became the first undergraduate in the university’s history to receive a professional “research affiliate” designation solely for his research contributions without first obtaining a PhD and “full professor” status, per the expected global standard. Josue “Josh” Giron is an expert in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning who has dedicated his career to research and industry innovation in analytics and systems optimization. Leveraging more than a decade of practiced expertise, he established Giron Consulting Solutions in 2018. The same year, he joined Innovating Innovations as a managing partner and chief consultant. In his leadership roles, Mr. Giron works with his teams to design and implement solutions for different businesses. To this end, he addresses digital and structural growth opportunities for medical and dental service and management organizations. Well-regarded for his scholarly output as well, Mr. Giron has been extensively published. His work is often presented at conferences, most recently including the 2024 Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience SWRegional Conference. Hood is a retired engineer and executive with over 50 years of experience in the aerospace industry. Utilizing his unique expertise in aerospace engineering, he founded UGC Inc. in 1989. For much of his career, he acted as the company’s president and chief executive officer, up until his retirement. At the onset of his career, Dr. Hood honorably served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1972. During his time in active duty, he operated in conflicts in both Korea and Vietnam. In recognition of his honorable service, he was decorated with a National Defense Medal and a United Nations medal for his contributions in Korea. Furthermore, he received several combat service medals and a presidential unit citation. After leaving the U.S. Navy, Dr. Hood joined Lockheed Missiles and Space Company (now Lockheed Martin). His earliest work for the business involved operating and navigating satellites, and as the American space shuttle program was developing, he shifted his focus to working on manned space flight in both the space shuttle and International Space Station programs. He considers his experiences with American astronauts and their families to be the highlight of his work with the company and a lasting source of pride. Dr. Hood also pursued a higher education, ultimately achieving a PhD in aeronautical engineering and management. In his scholarly pursuits, he has contributed to numerous papers and journal articles, having proudly cataloged his research in the United States Library of Congress. Ever committed to civic advocacy as well, he continues to support charitable causes, including the Lockheed Management Association and the Boy Scouts of America. While Dr. Hood is currently retired from fulltime work, he continues to write and publish on pertinent industry topics and remains committed to positively impacting his field.
