136 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING Dr. Derrick Tajaun Shaw is a visionary leader who works to provide solutions to product designs, process designs, tooling and equipment concepts. Since 2024, he has served as the senior technical program manager at Belcan, where he develops strategies and implementation on projects including cost reduction for rocket targeting. Prior to accepting his current role, he worked at Blue Origin LLC as a wire harness fabrication manufacturing engineering manager. To prepare for his future career, Dr. Shaw earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering technology from South Carolina State University in 2003, and a master’s degree in business administration from Webster University in 2005. Later in his career, he pursued further education at Walden University, earning a Master of Philosophy and a Doctor of Philosophy in engineering management in 2019. He began his technical career as a field engineer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1999, and after completing his undergraduate degree, he joined Electrolux as a process and manufacturing engineer. Throughout his professional journey Dr. Shaw has worked for notable companies, including Northrop Grumman, Boeing, and General Electric. Dr. Shaw considers his most notable achievement to be his leadership skills. By providing technical support, guidance and life coaching, he helps individuals recognize their potential and explore their future possibilities. He credits his success to his parents and his late grandmother, who was a significant source of inspiration and motivation during his youth. In the coming years, Dr. Shaw plans to write a book and return to academia as a professor. He also hopes to pursue opportunities for multifamily property investment and revitalize the Destiny International Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that he founded.
