Through this organization, he contributes to sustainable development initiatives such as tree planting, water access, microfinance, and educational support throughout East Africa. He is also active in environmental conservation through affiliations with the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and Better Globe Forestry. Earlier in his career, Mr. Oevrevik was an educator in Norway, where he taught computer science, web development and design. He also honorably served as a sergeant in the Norwegian Army’s Brigade Nord field artillery division. In the technology space, he worked as a senior consultant, gaining experience in web development, content strategy and database management across various industries. In preparation for his career, Mr. Oevrevik earned a Bachelor of Commerce in business economics at the BI Norwegian Business School in Oslo in 1992. He has also acquired numerous advanced certifications, including Adobe Photoshop Expert and a Master of Photography from the Photo Serge Institute in 2022. To commemorate his achievements, Mr. Oevrevik has received more than 200 international photography honors. In 2024, he was named Photographer of the Year by the 1839 Awards and received recognition from the Epson International Pano Awards, reFocus Awards, PX3, and the Fine Art Photography Awards. His interest in photography began in his youth while experimenting with his father’s camera and a homemade darkroom. Grateful for the support of his mentors, he remains dedicated to expanding his expertise and developing LensMasters, a platform for photography education and recognition. Jan-Tore Oevrevik has cultivated a fulfilling career as an accomplished fine art photographer, visual storyteller and business leader. Since 2018, he has served as the founder and lead visual storyteller at JTO Photography, where he creates award-winning imagery focused on landscapes and cityscapes. His work has been exhibited in leading galleries, including the Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago, the Kaiser Gallery in Cleveland, the Glasgow Gallery of Photography, and the Valid World Hall Gallery in Barcelona. In addition to her work with Saying No 2 Drugs is Cool, she is a co-founder of Graham’s Rainbow Blessing Hands, another 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to travel globally, providing food, clothing and hygiene items to individuals experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity and financial distress. She also sits on the board of East African Youth Awards, contributes to the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America, and participates as a member of the NAACP and a global ambassador of the Sharon Ringo Foundation in Tanzania. As an innovator, community leader, and indemand speaker, creative writer and podcast host, Mrs. Mason has been featured extensively in media outlets. Her published works include 2023’s “illusion: What Do You See When You See Me?!” and 2022’s “Daily Affirmations from The Lord’s Prayer, Devotional Meditation Prayer Book, 365 Days.” Among other honors, she received the prestigious 2023 Global Recognition Award for her commitment to empowering others to share their individual journeys.
