In 2024, he founded Ario.Health, a new and innovative company focused on creating AIdriven tools and solutions for pharmaceutical research. Previously, from 2018 to 2022, he managed Echelon Technology Advisors, his own independent consulting practice. He subsequently transitioned into an advising role as the senior vice president of business development and a strategic advisor at Karlsgate Inc., a compliance software start-up. Mr. Nielson excelled at Karlsgate between 2022 and 2024, managing its commercial program, which included sales, partnerships and customer success teams. Likewise, he was responsible for helping the staff meet sales targets and maintain a high level of client satisfaction while crafting new long-term goals. As a recognized expert in his field, Mr. Nielson has contributed extensively to various industryrelated publications, including the Journal of Biomechanical Engineering. Likewise, as part of his industry leadership, he has launched an industry blog, which highlights new data and analytic developments in the health care sector. At the onset of his career, Mr. Nielson intended to enter the field of clinical research or medicine. Thus, he began his vocational journey as a student at the University of Utah, earning a Bachelor of Science in political science and pre-medical studies in 2002. Following his graduation, he successfully launched a career in life sciences, working as a medical researcher before pivoting into business leadership after taking on various strategic marketing and business development projects for medical research companies. Continuing his education at the Columbia Business School, Mr. Nielson achieved a Master of Business Administration in 2005. The same year, he became a senior managing consultant at IBM Global Business Services, launching what would become a six-year career with the company. By the time of his departure, he had taken over management of IBM’s data and analytics practice for Life Science industry
