Heuer has cultivated over four decades of expertise as a trainer and educator. He currently serves as a trainer, speaker and coach at MH Life Consulting and LivingWorks Education, following over 30 years of honorable service as a United States Air Force chaplain. He has trained thousands of individuals on four continents in suicide intervention skills, utilizing the evidencebased ASIST and safeTALK curricula developed by LivingWorks. Dr. Heuer has also served as an adjunct instructor for the University of Maryland, the Air Force Chaplain Corps College and Denver Seminary. Dr. Heuer began his military career in 1984 and rose to the rank of colonel, completing his military career in the U.S. Department of Defense as the National Security Agency director’s staff chaplain. For his service in this role, he received the Defense Superior Service Medal. Since his active-duty retirement in 2018, Dr. Heuer has continued serving by teaching military members and veterans and mentoring the next generation of chaplains. He has notably coached more safeTALK trainers than any other contractor in the history of LivingWorks, and he is a recipient of the LivingWorks Gold Award. Since 2006, Louis Checo has served as a senior information operations specialist with the United States Army, holding the rank of sergeant first class. His primary responsibilities include planning, executing and overseeing Psychological Operations missions to shape perceptions, influence behaviors, and achieve strategic and tactical objectives. Mr. Checo began his professional career in information technology (IT), working for prominent organizations such as Philip Morris, AOL and Time Warner, as well as various engineering firms. In 2006, he decided to leave the IT sector and enter the military as a civilian. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous U.S. embassies, working closely with the U.S. Department of Defense and the Department of State. In addition to his experience, he holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Despite approaching retirement, Mr. Checo remains committed to contributing to his community and country. Outside of his career, he is a part-time music artist, songwriter and producer known as Louis Felipe. He has released nine albums since 2010, including recordings in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
