Mr. Ladd’s practice offers a wide array of services, assisting international business owners in recruiting and transferring personnel to the United States and working with naturalized citizens to help them sponsor their family members for immigration, including asylum-seekers. Outside his practice, he provides pro bono services for the Hispanic Alliance of Greenville and the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s Military Assistance Project. He is also a frequent speaker and podcast contributor for the South Carolina Bar Webcasts and in continuing education settings. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Ladd pursued a higher education, originally graduating from the University of Virginia in 1975 with a BA in foreign affairs and French. He subsequently attended Albany Law School, where he achieved a JD in 1978. In her leadership roles, she primarily oversees government affairs for the company. She has otherwise excelled as general counsel for 15 years, with experience in divisional, regional and global positions. Her expertise covers a wide range of responsibilities, often involving research and development, global distribution, sales, after-sales services, and the complete product life cycle. Furthermore, she is well-versed in antitrust law and global distribution. Previously, Ms. Jaeger de Foras worked with Whirlpool Corporation from 2015 to 2021, originally operating as the general counsel for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region and later becoming the global head of the commercial legal team. Prior to joining Whirlpool, she worked at Luxottica (now merged with Essilor) as the deputy general counsel at the global corporate headquarters in Milan, Italy. There, she led mergers and acquisitions, subsidiary management and corporate governance efforts. Beyond legal functions, Ms. Jaeger de Foras has long been involved in crisis management. Notably, she led crisis management efforts for Whirlpool Corporation during Europe’s largest-ever product recall of tumble dryers. She also managed legal and reputational defense in response to a tragic incident in 2017, when a product was alleged to have caused a fire that killed 72 people in London. This endeavor included organizing appearances before the British Parliament and supporting the chief executive officer. Alongside her experience, Ms. Jaeger de Foras is highly educated in her field. She holds a BS in foreign service from Georgetown University and a JD in international law and negotiations from Harvard Law School.
