After completing his doctoral coursework, Dr. Cooke began teaching at Rice University as an assistant professor of economics, leaving academia for the public sector in 1985 to become a senior economist at the Center for Naval Analyses, where he spent the next six years. In 1992, he started a six-year tenure as the principal of SRA International, rising to become vice president from 1998 until his departure from the company in 2013. Since 2013, Dr. Cooke has been the president of ASI Government’s consulting division, and since 2017, he has also served as its chief executive officer and primary owner. In this role, he works directly with high-level government clients overseeing investment and spending projects in addition to managing and delegating tasks throughout the company. Under his leadership, the company has emerged from a period of distress and celebrated an extended period of sustained growth, acquiring numerous highprofile clients. As an expert in public sector management, Dr. Cooke has been published in Government Executive and has held leadership roles in industry organizations, including the National Contract Management Association, the American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council, and the Professional Services Council. He credits his success to the relationships he has cultivated with mentors and his professional network and is deeply grateful for the support of his wife of 50 years, Sherrie. Dr. Timothy W.
