Outside her professional path, Ms. Gillman is a celebrated pianist and violinist who has performed with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, The August Symphony Orchestra and the North Jersey Symphony Orchestra. Reflecting on her career, she largely attributes her success to her natural calling to serve as an educator. To this end, she is always searching for ways to improve her craft, and she hopes to continue growing as a teacher in the coming years. was the “Mars Here We Come” workshop with STEMTeachersNYC in early 2025. She also conducted workshops at the National Science Teaching Association Conference in 2024. As part of her vocational journey, Ms. Gillman cultivated her own higher education. She began her studies at Felician University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in education, summa cum laude, in 1980. Shortly thereafter, she continued her studies at New York University, where she ultimately achieved a Master of Arts in education in 1982. In addition to her academic credentials. Ms. Gillman is certified in K-8 education and holds endorsements in K-12 education for students with hearing impairments. She has also been a National Geographic-certified educator since 2019.
