Silcox is a globally acclaimed expert in aviation security, having served as the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) representative to West Africa since 2022. Maintaining responsibility for overseeing transportation security matters across 13 countries in West Africa, she is currently stationed at the United States Embassy in Dakar, Senegal. In this role, Ms. Silcox serves as the incident response official during terroristrelated transportation incidents in West Africa, collaborates with TSA compliance offices to coordinate airport assessments and air carrier inspections at international airports with direct service to the United States, and manages a $14 million portfolio of foreign assistance projects, refining aviation security detection capabilities throughout the region. Earlier in her career, Ms. Silcox managed the International Capacity Development Operations Office at TSA headquarters in Northern Virginia from 2012 to 2022. During this tenure, Ms. Silcox was instrumental in enhancing aviation security assistance initiatives globally. She commenced her career with TSA in 2002, first serving as a transportation security officer in Indianapolis and ascending the ranks to lead transportation security officer, supervisory transportation security officer, security training instructor and training specialist for airports in Indiana. She was also a program analyst in the International Capacity Development Operations branch of TSA's Office of Global Strategies from 2010 to 2012 and an aviation security advisor to the Government of Ireland in 2022. Highly educated, Ms. Silcox holds a bachelor’s degree in world and American history and secondary education from Graceland University and a master’s degree in homeland security and terrorism studies from American Military University. Since obtaining her degrees, she has exemplified her commitment to protecting the traveling public throughout her career, resulting in numerous awards and public speaking requests. Of note, she was honored with the Global Aviation Security Individual Award and the Global Aviation Security Team Award in 2014 and 2016, respectively, both from TSA. She also recently spoke at the 50-Year Anniversary of the Yamoussoukro Decision in Brazzaville, Congo, and the Airports Council International Africa Conference in Dakar, Senegal.
