To commemorate her achievements, Ms. Dascalopoulos was recently featured in the Metropolitan Airport News Cover for the March edition of Women in Power in 2025 and was named one of Schneps Media’s Power Women of Queens in 2024 and 2025, as well as a 2025 Queens Power List honoree. She credits her success to her strong values and the guidance of her professional mentors. In accounting for her accomplishments, she is particularly proud to have found a wealth of success in a maledominated industry. Looking ahead, she hopes to provide the same support to others as they build their careers in the field. Lauren Marie Dascalopoulos has cultivated a fulfilling career of more than 15 years in the fields of hospitality and travel. Since 2019, she has operated as the general manager of airport operations for Hawaiian Airlines flights, specifically at John F. Kennedy International Airport. Ms. Dascalopoulos originally joined Hawaiian Airlines as a ground handler and team agent in 2012. Over the following six years, she took on a variety of new roles within the company, progressing through the leadership ranks as the airline grew its presence at John F. Kennedy International Airport. In her current position, she oversees all daily operations, including ensuring legal and financial compliance and managing marketing and business partnerships. Though she initially pursued a career in dental hygiene and worked in a dental office for five years, Ms. Dascalopoulos transitioned into hospitality due to her dislike of oral surgery lab work. Thus, she began her hospitality career in 2008, working as an intern for Walt Disney World. In 2010, she earned an associate degree in hospitality administration and management at Nassau Community College. Shortly thereafter, she joined JetBlue Airways in 2012 as a customer service agent.
