Martin is an award-winning attorney and partner of The Franchise & Business Law Group LLC, where her practice specializes in franchisor representation, emerging brands and startups. She celebrates 10 years with the firm and over 15 years in the field of law, during which time she has earned a reputation for creative problem-solving and attention to detail. Ms. Martin holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Utah and earned a Master of Arts in government and political management from Regent University in 2005. Inspired by her father’s career in law, at age 30, Ms. Martin decided to change careers with the goal of becoming a litigator. In 2009, she was awarded a JD from the Golden Gate University School of Law. Prior to beginning her career in law, Ms. Martin spent four years as an aide to the Salt Lake County Council and worked as a substitute teacher in the Granite School District. The following year, Ms. Martin joined Thompson, Ostler & Olsen as a junior associate, where she would continue to practice until joining The Franchise & Business Law Group in 2015 as a partner and shareholder. She remains committed to giving back to her community through pro bono work and has been a juvenile defender, a volunteer judge for youth mock trial programs, and a supporter of legal education programs throughout Utah. Ms. Martin is passionate about helping franchise owners and brands develop and has written extensively on topics in franchise law for the Utah Business Magazine, Lawyer Monthly Magazine, and others. Over the next decade, Ms. Martin hopes to develop cost-saving platforms for her clients and to leverage artificial intelligence tools to help reduce barriers to entry for new business owners.
