138 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine MEDICINE, HEALTH CARE AND WELLNESS KARA LEIGH RONCIN, MD PATHOLOGIST CHI Health Omaha, NE An emerging leader in medicine, Dr. Kara Leigh Roncin’s career in pathology spans several years, culminating in her present role as a pathologist at CHI Health, a nonprofit, faith-based health system and part of CommonSpirit Health. Since 2023, she has maintained an active membership in the practice, where she specializes in breast pathology and performs such crucial services as handling specimens for microscopic analysis, performing medical autopsies, and creating and disseminating pathology reports. In addition, she evaluates and diagnoses diseases, ranging from benign to malignant specimens, and collaborates with various clinical teams and physicians. Notably, through CHI Health, Dr. Roncin has also served as chair of the Commission on Cancer/ Network Cancer Committee and pathology lead for the Network Cancer Committee and the Breast Health Professional Advisory Board. Alongside her work at CHI Health, Dr. Roncin has served as an assistant professor at the Creighton University School of Medicine since 2023. In her position, she participates in the combined anatomic and clinical pathology residency program, conducts lectures and mentors students, drawing on her expertise to guide medical students in case-based learning modules and research methodologies. Furthermore, since 2024, she has been the medical director of the university campus laboratory. To remain abreast of developments in her fields of interest, Dr. Roncin is a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, the College of American Pathologists and the International Society of Breast Pathology, among other notable societies. Similarly, she has been involved with the Non-Small Cell Lung Carcinoma Biomarker Testing Learning Collaborative, part of the American Society of Clinical Pathology. To prepare for her career, Dr. Roncin pursued a formal education at the University of Saskatchewan in her native Canada, receiving a Bachelor of Science in anatomy and cell biology, with honors. Thereafter, she earned a Bachelor of Science in health science in 2013 and a Doctor of Medicine in 2016, both from the Medical University of the Americas. After earning
