Holt is acclaimed in the fields of health care innovation and organizational management, with over 30 years of professional experience. Since 2023, he has served as the president and chief executive officer of Meharry Medical College Ventures Inc. (MMCV), overseeing partnerships, commercialization of intellectual property and direct investments made by Meharry Medical College. Focusing intently on health care innovation and growth in startup and venture capitalist spaces, he also serves as the managing partner of MMC Ventures Fund, managing activities related to fundraising and investing. Earlier in his career, Mr. Holt served as the head of Medicare risk adjustment compliance at Cigna from 2018 to 2023, where he ensured regulatory adherence and compliance strategies. Concurrently, he was the head of compliance audit at Cigna-HealthSpring from 2017 to 2019, leading comprehensive auditing to bolster operational integrity. Previously, he was the chief executive officer of Aberrant Medical Supplies from 2013 to 2017, where the company expanded its market presence under his leadership. He also gained valuable experience as the chief executive officer of Great Health Pharmaceutical Company from 2008 to 2011 and as the executive director of Everest Systems Solutions from 2004 to 2012. Similarly, he served as the chief operating officer at Coordinated Healthcare Providers from 1999 to 2003, having launched the company in South Africa in 1997. During this tenure, Mr. Holt designed and secured funding for an innovative care model, which he cites as a career highlight. Mr. Holt holds a BBA from Tennessee State University and an MS in health law and strategy from the New York University School of Law. He also completed certifications in business strategy and problem-solving through McKinsey & Company. A member of the Nashville Healthcare Council, he attributes much of his success to his industry mentors, including an encounter with Nelson Mandela, where his brief but powerful words tremendously influenced Mr. Holt’s life and business philosophies.
