DAVID FYFE EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN Kodiaq Technologies Trebbin, Germany Drawing on decades of expertise in business operations and technology, Dr. David Fyfe is the executive chairman of Kodiaq Technologies, an energy storage technology company based in Cambridge, United Kingdom. Since 2024, Dr. Fyfe has led licensing efforts, conducted presentations with high-networth investors, and networked effectively to establish industry connections as part of the executive team. Previously retiring in 2010, Dr. Fyfe ultimately emerged from retirement upon being introduced to the opportunity to work at Kodiaq Technologies, realizing the company’s potential at the intersection of energy storage and innovative technologies. Earlier in his career, Dr. Fyfe served as the chairman and chief executive officer of Cambridge Display Technology between 2000 and 2010, ultimately selling the company to a Japanese firm for $285 million. During this tenure, he took the company public on NASDAQ in 2004. Two years prior, the Royal Academy of Engineering honored him with the McRobert Gold Medal in 2002, recognizing his leadership prowess. Previously, Dr. Fyfe was the chief executive officer and president of two companies for New York-based private equity firms and worked for BFGoodrich in the United States. Traveling across the globe, Dr. Fyfe also worked for ICI’s pharmaceutical division and an ICI venture-backed subsidiary in both the United States and Canada. He had also accepted a position with Agrico Chemical Co. in Louisiana, relocated to Oklahoma to serve as the vice president of commercial development, and traveled worldwide to cement deals in Canada, Pakistan, Thailand and Egypt, among other countries. Dr. Fyfe further served as a professor at his alma mater, the University of Cambridge, which he cites as a career highlight. Highly educated, Dr. Fyfe holds a master’s degree in materials science from the University of Cambridge, completed in 1966, and a PhD in electrochemistry from the University of London, completed in 1970.
