In the coming years, Dr. Scherban also intends to advocate for better representation of women as Nobel laureates. She attributes much of her present success to the influence and inspiration of her family, friends and mentors, such as Professor Arthur S. Looking toward the future, Dr. Scherban aspires to run for office in Tillamook County, Oregon, where she can leverage her unique educational and scientific background to bring more awareness to environmental preservation, scientific research and basic human rights.
