Ms. Perez began her studies at Ivy Tech Community College in 2016 before transferring to Purdue University Northwest in the Spring of 2017, where she completed her Bachelor of Engineering in mechanical engineering in 2021. In 2021, she served as a design and development technician until 2023. Prior to assuming her current role, Ms. Perez served as an administrative assistant for her alma mater for one year. Currently, Ms. Perez is pursuing a master’s degree in industrial engineering technology. In 2019, Ms. Perez earned credentials as a certified SolidWorks associate through the SolidWorks Authorized Training Centre. In addition to her industry experience, she has dedicated significant time to civic and community initiatives, including volunteering for a children’s ministry from 2013 to 2019 and serving as a fundraising volunteer for Purdue University Northwest Baja Racing from 2019 to 2021. Concurrently, she was a College of Technology ambassador for STEM on the Road. Notably, during her undergraduate studies, Ms. Perez was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success. Ms. Perez was named to Conexus Indiana’s Top 30 Engineers Under 30 in 2025 for her leadership in advanced manufacturing and logistics while working for FiberX since 2023. She drove major improvements in corn stover processing, leading to a 40% boost in efficiency and enabling the company to scale sustainable materials for commercial use – an achievement that highlights her blend of innovation, technical skill and impact on the industry. Looking ahead, Ms. Perez aims to establish a commercial space for AJ Mechanical Design and create workshops where others can gain handson experience. Angela J. Perez is a rising leader in the field of engineering design, with over five years of experience to her credit. Since 2023, she has served as the founder and owner of AJ Mechanical Design LLC in East Chicago, Indiana, where she designs and develops prototypes in engineering spaces. ANGELA J.
