179 Millennium - Twenty-first Edition SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING technologies, cementing his legacy as a noted expert in mechanics and structures. Dr. Simonian was a consultant and SME for SpaceX in Hawthorne, California, between 2014 and 2015, contributing to several programs, including designs he created that were utilized for space telescopes. Likewise, he was an SME at TRW/Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems in Redondo Beach, California, from 2009 to 2013, where his expertise was instrumental in advancing the reliability and performance of aerospace systems. He joined TRW/NG in 1981, where he designed and implemented six-degreeof-freedom reaction wheel isolator systems, which were incorporated into two Space Observatory systems, the Chandra X-Ray Observatory and the James Webb Space Telescope. Similarly, he engineered the Model Test of the Chandra Space Observatory Satellite and designed and implemented a shock isolation system for DSP Flight 23. He commenced his career in 1979 as a professional staff member at J.H. Wiggins Co. Dr. Simonian was a pioneer in introducing particle dampers and passive vibration suppression devices to spacecraft subsystems, specifically from TRW/Northrop Grumman Aerospace companies, to reduce launch-induced vibrations. These devices have been incorporated into NASA and space defense program satellites for many years. This technology has also been included in a TSat experiment to assess its performance in a zero-G environment. Dr. Simonian completed his PhD in mechanics and structures at UC Los Angeles. Looking ahead, he aims to continue contributing his expertise in aerospace engineering to society globally while spending quality time with his grandchildren. He is a founding member of Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America. Some of his publications and patents appear at https://scholargps.com/ scholars/49027597983367/stepan-simonian. Possessing over 45 years of experience, Dr. Stepan S. Simonian is a senior subject matter expert (SME), demonstrating profound knowledge in vibration isolation and damping design implementations within the aerospace industry. Since 2014, he has been self-employed and based in Torrance, California, where he has made significant contributions to several projects. He has successfully advanced numerous aerospace STEPAN S.
