In his leadership roles, Mr. Wallace has been instrumental in developing programs and teaching initiatives focusing on adolescent research and education. Mr. Wallace began his career in youth services in 1987 as a camp director and director of counseling at the New England Summer Camp and worked with the camp concurrently until 2019. He was recruited as a speaker for SADD and became the chair and chief executive officer of the organization in 1995, beginning a 16-year affiliation. He would notably lead the group through a rebrand focused on empowering participants via suicide prevention and substance use prevention. He has otherwise excelled as an author, speaker and consultant since 1986. As part of his vocational journey, Mr. Wallace earned a BA in communications, cum laude, at Susquehanna University in 1981. He subsequently continued his studies at Bucknell University, where he achieved an MS with honors in 1984. As a part of his commitment to growth and service, he has pursued additional education throughout his career, including coursework in psychology at The Pennsylvania State University and coursework at the Institute for Ethical Leadership at St. Thomas University. In recognition of his contributions to youth services, Mr. Wallace has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including several White House honors, a Chairman’s Compass Award from SADD, and a National Award from the American Camp Association. In light of his fulfilling career, he largely attributes his success to his tenacity and determination. Looking ahead, Mr. Wallace hopes to continue having a positive impact on the lives of others through his work. Stephen Gray Wallace is well-regarded as a nonprofit executive, motivational speaker, community advocate and youth development expert, celebrating more than 35 years of service to others. Since 2010, he has served as the president and director of the Center for Adolescent Research and Education (CARE).
