(Plantados Project) Miami, FL ALAN L. KRISHNAN Since 2007, Alan L. Krishnan has been the president of TeamUpCorp, where he brings more than 30 years of expertise in business and nonprofit leadership. Throughout his career, he has worked in 13 countries across multiple industry sectors and is best known for pioneering India’s first customer loyalty program in the 1970s. He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore. Motivated by a drive to make the world a better place, Mr. Krishnan has been active in philanthropy throughout his career, including service on the advisory board of the Sankara Eye Foundation, which has provided nearly 500,000 eye surgeries to patients in India. He is currently developing a peer learning study club program for children in English-speaking regions with the goal of enrolling one million participants by December 2026 and 10 million participants over the next decade. Miguel O. Sanchez is a nonprofit executive, entrepreneur and philanthropist and the founder of the Miami Power Team Foundation Inc. and Proyecto Los Plantados Inc. Born in Cuba and exiled to the U.S. in 1979, he has dedicated his life to exposing the truth about Cuba’s political prisoners under Fidel Castro’s regime. Through the Plantados Project, founded in 1980, Mr. Sanchez has preserved the stories of thousands who suffered under communism. From age 12 to 19, Mr. Sanchez smuggled letters and manuscripts from Cuban prisons, documenting human rights abuses. He extracted over 59,000 names of political prisoners, combatants and the executed, including four manuscripts later published in exile, such as “From My Wheelchair” by Ambassador Armando Valladares. He once served as a secret messenger to Commander Huber Matos, imprisoned for opposing Castro. Since 1995, Mr. Sanchez has led the Miami Power Team, enriching the lives of children with disabilities and terminal illnesses. He hosts “Eco de Voces” on Radio Mundo 1210 AM and has been honored by UNESCO, Disney, McDonald’s and received a President’s Award. He is also the author of four Spanish-language books, with “Paper Bullets” forthcoming. MIGUEL O. SANCHEZ
