Taylor’s initial sermon in 1997, “Move Out of Your Comfort Zone” (Matt. 14:22–33), continues to define his calling and ministry. Today, he serves as pastor of Israel A.M.E. Church in Albany, the oldest Black church in upstate New York and a station on the storied Underground Railroad. Known for blending tradition with bold innovation, Rev. Taylor has introduced initiatives like Social Action Tuesdays, Encouragement Sunday and the Financial Literacy Challenge, equipping congregants to live out their faith through justice, learning and service. His signature greeting card ministry uplifts grieving families, celebrates milestones and strengthens community bonds. Beyond the pulpit, Rev. Taylor is a dynamic executive leader with over 20 years of cross-sector experience. He has held CEO, interim CEO, COO and CFTO roles; managed over $180 million in revenue; delivered transformative cost savings; and championed DEIJ efforts. He is the author of “A Charge to Keep: Immutable Leadership Lessons from the C-Suite to the Pulpit.” A proud Tuskegee University alumnus, husband and father, he was inducted into the 100 Men of Color.
