After relocating to the United States in 2015, she pivoted to focus on education, creating a Spanish Sunday School program and joining the Innovation Charter School as an elementary mathematics teacher and coach. Since 2023, Ms. Sokolova has held her current role, focusing on the unique administrative needs of the school’s international student body. She obtained a Master of Education in educational leadership and administration at St. Thomas University and published a textbook in English and Russian for students on how to learn Spanish as a second language. She was also selected as a jury member of the American Business Expo Award for implementing innovative strategies in teaching foreign languages. She is a current and honored member of the Worldwide Women Association. Dr. Cheryl Alice Smith is widely regarded in the education sector, evident in her roles as an educator and the head of schools at Llano Christian Academy in Llano, Texas. Since 2011, she has acted as both principal and teacher, having instructed kindergarten classes through 12th grade in such subjects as the Bible, physical education and music, and ensuring the academy’s accreditation through the Association of Christian Schools International. Earlier in her career, Dr. Smith was a superintendent in Fayette County, Texas, from 2006 to 2010 and an administrative assistant at the Huffman Independent School District from 2000 to 2006. Dr. Smith commenced her career as a classroom teacher at Huffman Elementary School in 1980 and went on to accept several leadership positions, including service as principal at Alice Johnson Junior High School in Channelview, Texas, and Crosby Middle School in Crosby, Texas. Impressively, she was honored as Teacher of the Year in 2012 and Citizen of the Year in Llano in 2015. She earned an EdD in educational leadership and administration from Nova Southeastern University in 1995 and is a certified life coach via the Coaching Alliance.
