46 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT CASSANDRA TARANTINO FOUNDER, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR Cuesta Concord Chorus Paso Robles, CA As a distinguished performer, musician and educator, Cassandra Tarantino has been met with much success over the course of her 40-year career. Growing up in California during the 1970s, she was exposed to various music programs at a young age and began dance lessons. Over time, Ms. Tarantino experimented with playing the violin and piano until finding her niche in flute-playing. As a young adult, she attended Westmont College and earned a BA in English literature and a BM in church music in 1993, which influenced her later work as a choral conductor. Subsequently, she earned an MMus in performance flute from California State University, Northridge in 1997 and completed a music sabbatical in Northern Ireland. In 2018, after accruing many years in her industry, Ms. Tarantino earned an MMus in choral conducting from San Jose State University. Since 2005, Ms. Tarantino has served as the founder and artistic director of Cuesta Concord Chorus, where she has successfully integrated community members into musical activities. As part of her routine work, she maintains responsibility for teaching lessons in voice and flute, instructing courses in music theory and history, and leveraging her expertise in church music to enhance worship services and community outreach through music. Concurrently, Ms. Tarantino served as a music director at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in San Luis Obispo, California, from 2017 to 2025 and as a vocal and instrumental instructor for the Cuesta College Choral since 2005. Notably, she has also been a studio instructor for voice, flute and recorder since 1996. Among her many career achievements, Ms. Tarantino is especially proud of her work at Cuesta Concord Chorus, whose members have inspired her to pursue her own musical opportunities and become a trusted leader in her field. Guided by the belief that music thrives in communities, Ms. Tarantino emphasizes the importance of welcoming new members into the rehearsal space and notes that every member who walks into the building is enveloped in a sense of belonging.
