In 1999, he completed a Bachelor of Arts in communications, with a concentration in journalism and a minor in business. After graduation, Mr. Perone became an assistant editor at Cygnus Business Media and a regular contributor to The Island Ear, where he wrote CD reviews, covered live concerts, and interviewed national recording artists. In 2000, he joined Cadmus Professional Communications as a journal production editor, a role he held for the next five years. Since 2005, he has been a senior editor for The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, where he reviews and edits technical books on engineering. In addition to his work as an editor, Mr. Perone is the author of two novels for young adult readers, “Danger Peak” and “Déjà View.” Both have attracted numerous accolades, including First Place at the Spring 2024 BookFest Awards in the category of Young Adult – Literary & Coming of Age and a spot on the 2024 Eric Hoffer Book Award finalist shortlist. He has also published a collection of short stories, titled “The Electric God and Other Shorts,” which won three literary awards, including First Place at the 2024 Firebird Book Awards in the category of Short Stories. He attributes his success to his resilience, hard work and ability to pivot in the face of challenges. In his personal time, Mr. Perone enjoys cycling and playing the saxophone and is an active parent to his two daughters.
