53 Millennium - Twenty-first Edition ARTS, MEDIA AND ENTERTAINMENT Joan Sugerman is an executive, coach and award-winning film producer celebrating more than 25 years of success in her diverse careers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and art history from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Art Institute of Chicago, and continued her education at Hunter College, earning a Master of Fine Arts. In 2000, Ms. Sugerman established Gemini Worldwide, a coaching practice where she remains chief executive officer and works with clients to provide group and individual sessions. She focuses on transformational coaching tailored to the needs of each client to target fundamental issues and create long-lasting change. Gemini Worldwide boasts a portfolio of clients, including Nextone and World Bank, and Ms. Sugerman is proud to be able to drive meaningful growth for leaders across business sectors. In addition to her coaching practice, Ms. Sugerman is the chief executive officer of Global Cinema LLC, through which she has produced several feature films for the film festival circuit. She has produced two official selections for the Miami Film Festival, in addition to the Cine Golden Eagle winner “Road to Recovery” and the Berkeley Film Festival Best of Festival selection “Soulmates.” In the coming years, she hopes to dedicate more time to cinema with the goal of expanding her consulting firm to work with more film industry professionals. Her next film, which she describes as her most ambitious and impactful project to date, is currently in production. Ms. Sugerman attributes her success to her mental clarity, integrity and dedication to personal transformation. In her personal time, she enjoys equestrian sports and spending time outdoors and is a supporter of her local United Way chapter.
