Dougherty is a distinguished business consultant and entrepreneur who has served as the managing director of DPDOUGHERTY, LLC. since 2008. He celebrates more than 45 years of career success, including work in the telecommunications industry during a pivotal period of industry growth and expansion into new technologies. He began his professional career as a student at Regis University, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in physics in 1975. After entering the telecom sector as a group marketing manager for Sprint in 1980, he returned to school at Rockhurst University to pursue a Master of Business Administration in finance and executive management, graduating in 1982. Mr. Dougherty remained with Sprint until 1988, when he joined Ameritech, a regional carrier for AT&T, as a division manager and a senior director of technology strategy. After two years, he moved on to a role as the managing director of the Paragon Group before pivoting to consulting as a principal of global management consulting services at Capgemini, a position he held from 1992 to 1999. In 2000, he became a senior principal for global management consulting services at PRTM, later acquired by PwC, where he continued to cement his reputation for strategic insight and leading operational performance excellence and leadership development programs with his clients across multiple industries. He has served as interim CEO of two high-tech startup companies. In 2008, Mr. Dougherty left PRTM to establish DPDOUGHERTY, LLC., focusing exclusively on consulting. His consultancy work continued to expand through his affiliation with other firms, such as Virtusa, as the senior director of business consulting and North American market sector lead. He served in a similar capacity with other consultancies. Mr. Dougherty has extensive international management consulting experience. Dedicated to teaching others as well, Mr. Dougherty has contributed as a faculty lecturer at the University of Tennessee’s Haslam College of Business in Knoxville since 2018.
