Similarly, Mr. Robbins pioneered the launch of WPT’s “Veterans First” hiring initiative, ensuring that over 10% of the company’s workforce is veterans. WPT was founded by Mr. Robbins’ grandfather in the mid-2000s, having rescued the company from closure during the 2008 financial crisis. Mr. Robbins joined the family business after serving in the United States Army, where he led a reconnaissance platoon during Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2010, he was honorably discharged and went on to attend the University of Evansville, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in global leadership in 2014. Mr. Robbins joined WPT in 2013 as a plant manager and was promoted to vice president and general manager by 2017. During his tenure, he led several major projects, including the establishment of a second manufacturing location and the installation of a new filtration line. Mr. Robbins stood at the helm of new initiatives during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, leading his team to produce American-made personal protective equipment (PPE). Notably, within 50 days, he and his team earned FDA certifications and launched the production of PPE materials, making WPT one of the first companies to respond to the nation’s urgent need. Outside his profession, Mr. Robbins is a board member of the Ohio County Chamber of Commerce and the Green River Area Industrial Center. In accounting for his success, Mr. Robbins credits his perseverance and diligent work ethic, values instilled in him at a formative age. Looking ahead, he aims to expand WPT to a global audience.
