108 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT In 2012, Mr. Bowen returned to the private sector, joining Arent Fox’s Government Contracts practice group, where he assisted with appeals of security clearance revocations, bid protests, cost accounting audits and contract claims, as well as assisting on immigration pro bono matters. He then joined IBM to handle all legal work related to IBM's federal civilian contracts, including software audits, performance disputes, protests, REAs and compliance trainings. He subsequently joined the startup Spire Global Inc., where he handled their public sector contracts and helped them go public. Mr. Bowen is now at Google LLC, where he provides legal support for contracts with federal civilian agencies, as well as state and local governments. Outside his work with Google, Mr. Bowen is active with his parish and his family in Stony Brook, New York. He attributes much of his success to the support of his family. Christopher A. Bowen is an attorney who has built his career in contract and compliance law for cutting-edge technology. His interest in the field developed early and matured into a determination to help risk allocations and prevent larger conflicts in emerging fields. He graduated from Dartmouth College, where he majored in economics. After college, he attended the George Washington University Law School while interning with the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division and working as a research assistant at Criterion Economics. After graduation, Mr. Bowen began his career in 2005 as an attorney for Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton and then as a clerk for Judge Diane Sykes on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. After that, he entered public service as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, where he was the lead counsel for cases involving all aspects of government contracts, including bid protests, contract claims and fraud. He successfully argued before courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the Court of Federal Claims and district courts.
