Outside of her career, Ms. Hu is a devoted wife and enjoys hiking and playing mah-jong with her family. Born in China to a family of business owners, Maggie Hu, Esq., took an unexpected path to the legal profession. She attended an art high school with plans to become a musician before her family’s entrepreneurial background inspired her to pursue business studies at Baruch College. A business law course captured her interest, leading her to graduate cum laude with a BBA in international business in 2013. Despite initial reservations from her family, she continued on to earn her JD from Brooklyn Law School in 2016, focusing on real estate and international studies. During law school, Ms. Hu built a diverse foundation through roles as a summer associate at Arcé Law Group PC, a legal intern at Doyaga & Schaefer Law Office, a legal assistant at the Law Offices of Howard B. Weber, and a mediator at the Brooklyn Law School Mediation Clinic. After passing the bar, she began her career as an associate attorney at Amir Alishahi & Associates and later served as legal counsel at Hongkun USA before founding MG Law Group PLLC in 2019.
