Elizondo has accrued nearly 20 years of professional experience in insurance, culminating in her current role as the owner and chief executive officer of Elizondo Insurance Services. Since 2007, she has led the agency in Harlingen, Texas, specializing in Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplements, ACA health plans, Life Insurance and Retirement solutions. With a focus on health care advocacy and financial protection of underserved populations in South Texas, Ms. Elizondo has served thousands of clients across the Rio Grande Valley. Notably, Ms. Elizondo has also helmed several initiatives in association with Elizondo Insurance Services, such as hosting Medicare seminars, retention events and benefit clinics aimed at helping low-income families and seniors. Similarly, she promotes awareness of fraud prevention and benefit literacy to help her clients navigate government programs such as Medicaid, SNAP and Extra Help. In light of her success, Ms. Elizondo has received numerous Top Producer awards from Aetna, Humana, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield and WellCare. She also earned the SBA Small Business Person of the Year award for the Lower Rio Grande Valley District in 2025, and Elizondo Insurance Services won the Mary G. Moad Ethics Award from the Better Business Bureau two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024. At the inception of her career, Ms. Elizondo worked in medical coding, which introduced her to the health care industry and its various insurance providers. After a colleague recognized Ms. Elizondo’s gift for connecting with others, Ms. Elizondo entered the field of insurance as a broker. Shortly thereafter, she built her business from scratch and now leads a team of over 80 agents across numerous offices. Outside of her primary ventures, Ms. Elizondo is a member of the McAllen, Harlingen and Rio Grande Valley Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. Furthermore, she serves her community as a director of her local church’s food pantry and leads several women’s ministries, youth programs and educational workshops.
