Earlier, he completed an MS in health and health care administration from United States University, a BSN from Aspen University and an AAS in registered nursing from the Med-life Institute School of Nursing. Currently pursuing certification as a family nurse practitioner, he holds certifications as an LPN, CNA, medical assistant, and in peripherally inserted central catheter and midline placement. Prompted to enter the nursing industry after realizing deficiencies in hands-on nursing education during the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Luces is motivated to enact meaningful change to address barriers faced by marginalized populations. Looking ahead, he aims to establish a clinic to provide cost-efficient care to lowincome patients. Dr. Cordelle A. Luces is distinguished in the field of health care for excellence in nursing education, drawing on over 16 years of expertise. Since 2022, he has thrived as an emergency room nurse educator at Montefiore Health System, having also held roles as an intensive care and emergency room registered nurse since 2018. In these capacities, he onboards new nursing staff, conducts classes in emergency medicine and pediatrics, and develops curricula for nursing education programs. Additionally, he cares for critically ill patients, including lung and heart transplant recipients, and post-operative surgical patients. Dr. Luces has also lent his wealth of knowledge as a full-time faculty member and director of the accelerated nursing program at Mercy College since 2023. In his position, he oversees both weekday and weekend programs, develops outcomes for national nursing board examinations, and teaches a vast array of courses, including pediatrics, community health, pharmacology and medical-surgical nursing. Furthermore, Dr. Luces has served as an adjunct assistant professor at CUNY Hostos Community College since 2021 and a lead instructor for basic life support, pediatric advanced life support, and advanced cardiovascular life support at CPR You & Me LLC since 2020.
