Mr. Mauney received a Bachelor of Science in industrial technology and business management from East Carolina University in 1987. A member of the RNG Coalition, the American Biogas Council and the Solid Waste Association of North America, he attributes much of his success to his astute communication skills and ability to translate technical challenges into valuable insights for finance personnel, bridging gaps between investment strategies and operational efficiencies. In this regard, he has been invited to speak at industry events and served as an expert witness before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Looking ahead, Mr. Mauney aims to continue advancing sustainable solutions with renewable energy products through The Hunter Group and RNGA Energy Group, with the goal of leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come. With expertise in renewable energy and sustainability, David H. Mauney IV is an industry leader with roots in the textile industry dating back to the mid-1800s. As the fourth generation of his family growing up in the tradition, Mr. Mauney has leveraged his generational knowledge to serve as the principal founder and chief executive officer of The Hunter Group LLC, a family of renewable energy companies. Since 2008, he has expanded the company from serving a single major client to providing consulting services for a range of public and private clients. During this time, The Hunter Group oversaw the development of a facility that became the third-largest renewable gas production site in the United States. Additionally, Mr. Mauney has served as the president of RNGA Energy Group LLC since 2015. Continuing his family’s legacy, his son, David H. Mauney V, also assumed the role of vice president of operations at RNGA Energy Group. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mauney worked on a landfill gas-to-energy initiative, which granted him the Landfill Methane Outreach Program Award for Project of the Year from the Environmental Protection Agency in 2010.
