With expertise in renewable energy and sustainability, David H. Mauney IV is an industry leader with roots in the textile industry dating back to the mid-1800s. As the fourth generation of his family growing up in the tradition, Mr. Mauney has leveraged his generational knowledge to serve as the principal founder and chief executive officer of The Hunter Group LLC, a family of renewable energy companies. Since 2008, he has expanded the company from serving a single major client to providing consulting services for a range of public and private clients. During this time, The Hunter Group oversaw the development of a facility that became the third-largest renewable gas production site in the United States. Additionally, Mr. Mauney has served as the president of RNGA Energy Group LLC since 2015. Continuing his family’s legacy, his son, David H. Mauney V, also assumed the role of vice president of operations at RNGA Energy Group. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mauney worked on a landfill gas-to-energy initiative, which granted him the Landfill Methane Outreach Program Award for Project of the Year from the Environmental Protection Agency in 2010.
