He holds an associate degree in television broadcasting from the Carolina School of Broadcasting and previously worked as a late-night television news anchor for KLEW and as a nighttime radio DJ. His early media career later expanded into leadership roles, including serving as vice president of International Assurance Inc. and president of Apollo Productions. Throughout the 2010s, Mr. Davis continued to diversify his professional pursuits, contributing to large-scale event production as the creative director for Unity Fest and Affinity for ALL People, while also serving as a sales representative in the craft spirits industry. Looking toward the future, he aims to further expand the Hill Country Animal Rescue’s mission, broadening its reach, enriching its programs, and creating new opportunities for those working in animal care and rescue. Since 2022, Andrew L. Davis has served as the executive director of the Hill Country SPCA, a nonprofit animal rescue and shelter system dedicated to serving domestic animals – including cats, dogs, horses, livestock and small mammals. Guided by a lifelong passion for animal welfare and more than a decade of nonprofit leadership experience, Mr. Davis joined the organization during a pivotal period of growth. Under his leadership, annual adoptions have more than tripled, and the organization has achieved a new level of financial stability, enabling the creation and expansion of several impactful programs. Among these initiatives is the Healing Hearts program, which partners with regional shelters to provide medical treatment and foster placements for at-risk animals. Mr. Davis also oversaw the development of on-site tiny homes designed to house animals recovering from illness or injury, further strengthening the organization’s capacity for compassionate care. Prior to his tenure at the Hill Country SPCA, Mr. Davis held board positions with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, the American Cancer Society, and other community-focused organizations.
