165 Millennium - Twenty-second Edition SOCIAL WORK, PUBLIC SERVICE, NONPROFIT AND HUMANITIES Dr. Darryl A. Elow has demonstrated expertise in a wide range of disciplines, evident in his decades-long tenure in engineering, finance, mental health care, pastoral services and consulting. Since 2021, he has served as a commercial real estate consultant for Jay Nuss Realty Group LLC while concurrently thriving as a clinician for The Osiris Family Institute since 2019. Focusing much of his current work on aiding families and children with mental health concerns, he has also served as a minister for several years. At the inception of his career, Dr. Elow earned a BS in architectural engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in 1988 and worked as a civil and structural engineer for seven years. Deciding to pivot his focus to finance, he then received an MBA in finance and financial management services from Northeastern University in 1995. Dr. Elow worked in the finance sector for seven years, ending his field work with Boston Scientific. After departing from the field, he attended the Boston University School of Theology, receiving an MDiv and a DMin in pastoral studies and counseling in 2005 and 2011, respectively. Since that time, Dr. Elow has practiced as a chaplain at medical clinics and Morning Star Baptist Church, served as an adjunct professor at Pine Manor College and Gordon College, and worked in educational services as an elementary school dean and school operations manager. His passion for helping children and families overcome strife is evident in his multiple roles. Ordained by the American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts, Dr. Elow has also dedicated significant time to civic duties. A board member of Tremont Credit Union, he taught financial literacy classes at Simmons College and ran a home-based architectural firm, focusing on residential renovations. Similarly, he was president of the Boston Community Development Collaborative and has maintained membership with the American Heart Association and the Paul Robeson Success Institute. Dr. Elow is a distinguished servant leader, and he attributes much of his success to his faith, persistence and fortitude. Looking ahead, he aims to continue supporting families in crisis through pastoral and consulting services. DR. DARRYL A.
