As a private design atelier, Young Studio has undertaken complex print, exhibition and typography design projects for clients, including the Arctic Ice Project, poet Reginald Dwayne Betts and painter Titus Kaphar. He began his professional career as a student at Cornell University, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in human development. In 2006, he was awarded a Master of Fine Arts in design by Yale University, having distinguished himself as a rising star in his discipline by winning the Adobe Whistler Memorial Award. Mr. Young considers his diverse educational background to have been formative in shaping his design philosophy and approach to working with clients. He views design as a conversation between aesthetics and human factors, striving to create future-focused designs that consider the needs of a changing world and a diverse user base. He describes his philosophy as occupying the intersection of storytelling and universal design, and his experience in psychology remains a direct influence on his brand transformation work. Mr. Young’s first professional role came in 1996 when he served as an Olympic manager for the Coca-Cola Company. He launched Young Studio in 2000 and has continuously taken on diverse creative work through the atelier, partnering with fine artists, writers and other creatives. His portfolio as Young Studio has included typography, graphic design and identity design, and he considers his collaborations with colleagues and clients to be the heart of his practice. Mr. Young continued to establish himself as a rising star through the early 2000s, and from 2006 to 2009, he served as the design director of Push. In 2010, he was named an associate creative director at frog, now a division of Capgemini Invent, and a design director at the commercial production company Brand New School. Mr. Young assumed creative leadership roles at several high-profile firms over the next decade. In 2016, he became the executive creative director at West Global, and the same year, he joined Wolff Olins as head of design, marking the beginning of a five-year career with the company. He rose to become a global principal at Wolff Olins in 2018 and chief creative officer in 2020, departing the following year to
