From 2018 to 2024, he served as a senior product manager of risk management, leading cross-functional teams to develop and improve software that supports safety and saves lives. Mr. Carlson earned three associate degrees in 1992, a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1996, and a master’s degree in social science in 1998 from Utah State University. He earned the Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) and Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) credentials, and in 2025, was recognized as a certified master facilitator by AJ & Smart and as a certified positivity practitioner (CPP) through Dr. Paul Jenkins. Mr. Carlson’s thought leadership was recognized and rewarded with opportunities to speak at industry conferences, serve on advisory boards with business leaders from Fortune 100 companies, and be published in Risk & Insurance Magazine, including “Earning a Seat at the Table” (2012) and “Opportunity and Risk Related to Big Data, and Mobile and Cloud” (2013). Outside of his primary responsibilities, Mr. Carlson is an ambassador for suicide prevention and a disruptor of fear, anxiety and hopelessness. He is an author and inspirational speaker, and maintains an association with the National Speakers Association. Mr. Carlson attributes much of his success to his faith.
