Between 2012 and 2015, Ms. Walker served as payroll coordinator for the Open Society Foundations, followed by three years as payroll manager at ORBCOMM. She joined Aspen Insurance Group as a payroll manager in 2018, departing the following year to become the United States tax payroll manager at industryleading consulting firm EY. Ms. Walker remained at EY until 2024, when she stepped down to accept her current role with Howden. As a part of her commitment to professional development, Ms. Walker is active in the American Payroll Association and PayrollOrg. She attributes much of her success to the inspiration and guidance of other women in the industry and strives to give back by acting as a mentor to other emerging professionals. In her free time, Ms. Walker volunteers for Special Pals, a local animal rescue organization. Gina Marie Walker is a business leader and payroll professional celebrating more than 15 years of success in her field. Since 2024, she has served as the payroll manager for Howden, where she oversees all steps in the payroll cycle for five different entities and plays a key role in documentation, compliance and optimization. Ms. Walker holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in public administration, with a concentration in health care. She began her career in 2008 as an administrative assistant to the chief financial officer of the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central Connecticut. Over the next two years, she was encouraged by the chief financial officer to explore the roles available to her in the organization’s finance department, an opportunity she considers formative. While initially intending to pursue a career as an accountant, Ms. Walker discovered an aptitude for payroll management and an enjoyment of how it intersected with regulatory compliance. In 2010, she became a payroll associate at Markit North America, working under a manager who remains one of her most significant professional mentors.
