Ms. Saucedo’s dedication is shaped by her military career, which included deployments to Qatar and Iraq and an assignment in Germany. Her awards include the Meritorious Service Medal and the Iraqi Campaign Medal. Looking ahead, she aims to reduce mental health crises, homelessness and suicide among women veterans. After retiring from more than two decades of service in the U.S. Air Force in 2022, Amanda Mae Saucedo recognized a critical gap in visibility, support and community for women veterans. In response, she founded the Woman Veteran Calendar, a national nonprofit dedicated to celebrating women veterans, connecting them to essential resources, and inspiring future generations of women who serve. Under Ms. Saucedo’s leadership, the Woman Veteran Calendar has grown into a thriving nationwide community. Thousands of women veterans connect daily through the organization’s free online platforms, where they share experiences, build sisterhood and access life-changing resources. The nonprofit has helped women veterans across the country navigate VA enrollment, disability claims, mental health services and local support programs – creating a vital bridge for women seeking recognition, care and connection. The organization’s flagship initiative is its annual printed calendar, featuring women veterans from diverse backgrounds and branches of service. Beyond visibility, the calendar serves as a tool for empowerment and mentorship. Through the Heroes in the Hallways program, calendars are donated to Junior ROTC classrooms, high schools and recruiter offices nationwide.
