48 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine BUSINESS, FINANCE AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP DR. ALEX OLUSANYA MATTHEW VICE PRESIDENT Malbun Consulting Laveen, AZ Dr. Alex Olusanya Matthew has a bold goal for the future, aiming to help create 100,000 millionaires over the next five years. Though this may sound impossible, he has a clear plan for accomplishing it. Given all that he has achieved to this point, he feels confident that he will succeed. After building a distinguished career in asset management, Dr. Matthew is now focused on serving others. Named “Vision 2030,” his plan is to first train 100 consultants to develop their skills to create a strong team. Then, together, they will help 100,000 families in the community build $100 billion in total assets. Dr. Matthew views this mission as both humanitarian and financially rewarding. If he and his team succeed, each household would earn an average of $2 million annually or about $10 million over five years. Dr. Matthew approaches his work with careful planning, a quality he learned at a young age. Born in Nigeria, he had an early interest in studying law. However, his uncle, an accountant, encouraged him to review a newspaper that posted job openings and career advice. He found that accounting positions had the highest vacancy rate and decided to pursue a career in the field. After completing a higher national diploma in accounting and finance from the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, in 1999, Dr. Matthew began his career as an assistant financial controller at Doctors Without Borders. He also worked as a financial accountant at Conoil PLC from 2003 to 2005 and as a financial operations manager at MTN from 2005 to 2008. Along the way, he pursued a Master of Business Administration in international business management at Lagos State University. Early in his career, Dr. Matthew noticed that asset management was an area of accounting that many professionals did not explore much. He saw an opportunity in this and decided to focus on the specialty. As he moved through various professional roles, he realized that most organizations lacked expertise in asset management, so he worked to become the go-to person for this skill. He served as the manager of fixed assets at Etisalat Nigeria from 2008 to 2013.
