Currently, he serves as the director of development for National Right to Life, where he leads all aspects of fundraising. He previously served as a major gifts officer for National Right to Life, as well as the manager of development for the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). Over the course of his career, Mr. Lester has raised millions of dollars for clients and organizations, but his proudest achievements are the relationships he has developed along the way. In addition to his professional achievements, he is involved in the Direct Marketing Association of Washington, DC, Be the Edge Ministry, and Sons of the American Revolution. He is also a former alumni board member at Huntingdon College, where he graduated in 2015 with a BA in history. James “Jamey” R. Lester has made several transitions throughout his career, but one value has guided every move: the importance of forming meaningful relationships. Mr. Lester began his political career as an intern for U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions in 2014. He also gained additional experience as an intern with the Family Research Council before being hired as a junior consultant for Jeb Bush’s 2016 presidential campaign. Numerous political positions followed, including serving as a field director and deputy national field director for the Congressional Leadership Fund. He was the deputy campaign manager for Georgians for Belle Isle and the regional political director for U.S. Representative Bradley Byrne’s 2019 Senate race. This role led to an opportunity as a political strategist with The Lukens Company, where, for over a year and a half, he managed more than 10 clients simultaneously. Throughout this time, Mr. Lester also served as a political consultant through Lester Consulting LLC, which he formed in 2016. He worked with political campaigns and organizations to support their fundraising efforts across the country. The consultancy is one of his proudest achievements, as he was able to start and grow this small business in a challenging economic and political environment.
