Ann Arbor, MI Dr. Shyam P. Keshavmurthy has consistently emphasized the importance of lifelong learning, particularly in the field of software engineering. Now with four decades of professional experience, he has served as a principal application engineer at The MathWorks Inc. since 2019, where he has advanced artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for leading industry projects. Concurrently, he has been a managing partner at Demya Consulting LLC since 2018, lending his expertise in business data analysis and technology. Throughout his career, Dr. Keshavmurthy has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to improving AI solutions for customers in the digital manufacturing space. Dr. Keshavmurthy’s career began in 1986 in his native India, where he earned a BSME from the University of Mysore and served as a senior engineer for the Nuclear Power Corporation of India until 1992. Relocating to the United States shortly thereafter to advance his career and academic pursuits, he earned a PhD in nuclear and radiological engineering and computer science from the University of Florida, Gainesville, in 1996 and served as a research fellow at the University of Michigan Medical School from 1996 to 1998, working on Computer-Aided Diagnosis. Subsequently, Dr. Keshavmurthy joined Perceptron (now ISRA VISION), where he remained until 2018. During his longstanding tenure, he served as a senior systems engineer, a sensor and system architect, a product manager for sensors and a chief engineer. Punctuating these appointments, he served as the director of development at Solidica Inc. for two years. A member of the American Nuclear Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Dr. Keshavmurthy has been a highly sought-after industry expert for his experience in applying and operationalizing AI solutions in the engineering and manufacturing sectors. Among his many career achievements, he is perhaps most proud of inventing the Helix platform, which revolutionized the way professionals measure car bodies in a plant.
