One project included collaborating with the New York City Buildings Preservation Commission. Mr. Ruppert approaches each project with perseverance and dedication, taking great pride in his ability to overcome challenges. He attributes his success to a continuous process of refinement and self-criticism that he has developed throughout his career. With a standardized system of detailed reports, he is better able to serve his clients. Mr. Ruppert advocates for homeowners and often serves as an expert witness in legal cases involving contractors. He holds nothing back in his service, learning early the importance of providing clients with all he could offer while ensuring complete transparency. His work is guided by a dedication to integrity and high standards. As a child in a multilingual household, Peter Ruppert often found mathematics and science to be daunting. However, his determination to overcome these obstacles, often by studying old textbooks, enabled him to build a successful engineering career spanning more than five decades. Mr. Ruppert is the founder of Soundview Engineering P.C., a company he has led since 2000. He established the firm while serving as chief engineering supervisor at Nassau University Medical Center, a role he held from 1973 to 2009. Specializing in inspections, he often designs solutions to enhance public safety. Mr. Ruppert’s career path began when he joined the U.S. Coast Guard and chose to be placed in the engineering section, where he worked with steam boilers. As a boiler technician, he expanded his knowledge of steam plants, engineering turbines and pumping systems. This shipboard experience enabled him to transition to a steam-powered plant within the hospital. Throughout much of his career, Mr. Ruppert has been tasked with training and supervising others. He has often given lectures to real estate professionals about engineering inspections. His well-rounded expertise includes both classroom instruction and on-site work supervision. Recent work has focused on vehicle safety features, particularly how occupants can escape a car submerged in water or engulfed in flames. PETER RUPPERT FOUNDER Soundview Engineering P.C.
