148 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine SOCIAL WORK, PUBLIC SERVICE, NONPROFIT AND HUMANITIES Barbara Ann Henry is a seasoned entrepreneur and the founder and executive director of Domino Service Dogs. Established in 2012, the nonprofit organization is well-regarded throughout Colorado for its comprehensive training of service dogs, having successfully placed and trained more than 200 dogs since its inception. Inspired by her daughter, Caitlin, who required a service dog after sustaining a spinal cord injury, Ms. Henry endeavored to expand access to service animals for those facing barriers due to their age or health status. Since that time, Domino Service Dogs has achieved remarkable growth. Ms. Henry is also distinguished in her industry for her expertise in animal training and disability services. She holds credentials as a professional dog trainer, a trick dog instructor, a canine life and social skills evaluator, and a level one TAGTeach instructor. Additionally, she is registered with the American Kennel Club as a canine good citizen evaluator and earned a certification in nonprofit leadership and management from the Community Resource Center. For her excellence and unwavering dedication to her community, Ms. Henry earned the Shining Star Award from former Colorado governor John Hickenlooper in 2017. The prior year, she earned the Cappi Service Animal Award from the Colorado Cross-Disability Coalition. Under Ms. Henry’s leadership, Domino Service Dogs has collaborated with several other nonprofits, such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the 1221 Foundation, the Chelsea Hutchinson Foundation, the Northwest Center for Independent Living, the Rocky Mountain Health Foundation, the Epilepsy Foundation and the Chinook Foundation, among others. Ms. Henry has also engaged with the Association for Professional Dog Training since 2013. Beyond her work in dog training, Ms. Henry volunteers as a horse trainer for children in foster care, providing horseback riding lessons. Likewise, she supports the Special Olympics powerlifting team. Her leisurely activities include hiking and walking in nature, as well as spending quality time with her children.
