During his career, Mr. Man worked for Revolution Foods, a certified B and Public Benefit Corporation, focusing on nationwide strategy, compliance and employee relations. He also served in the nonprofit sector as the interim chief human resources officer at Dientes Community Dental. Mr. Man is currently the founder and lead partner of Fern Martian Architects. Through the firm, he guides emerging startups, serves on advisory boards and recruits skilled professionals to advance each organization’s mission. His work is built on a decade of experience in Silicon Valley startups, where he thrived in the fast-paced, often ambiguous settings that preceded an IPO or profitability. Battle-tested in managing high-pressure situations, he has led teams through major transitions while providing strategic solutions. Mr. Man next intends to launch an incubator and accelerator lab designed to provide dedicated space and housing for aspiring entrepreneurs. Mr. Man’s professional journey has been shaped by both his business career and personal life. An avid runner, hiker and camper, he credits these hobbies with improving his personal health and deepening his appreciation for community service. He currently serves as the head track and field coach at Milpitas High School and is a board member for Running for a Better Oakland, an organization he hopes to replicate nationwide. Driven by his experience in the private, public and nonprofit sectors, Mr. Man launched Fern Martian Architects to support veterans and small- to medium-sized businesses. He remains focused on driving meaningful organizational change by fostering equitable business practices and empowering team members to realize their full potential. Fred Man moved to Silicon Valley as an infant. He has been immersed in an entrepreneurial environment since adolescence through his family’s business, which led him to earn a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship from San Jose State University. He spent the better part of the next decade building techfirst startups, including DoorDash, Tesla and AvantStay.
