Don Perkins’ father established Frank Perkins Quarter Horses in 1956, a ranching and breeding business that has consistently produced award-winning quarter horses known worldwide. Seventy years later, he is upholding this tradition with a critical eye for quality over profitability. Mr. Perkins is an expert horse rancher known for breeding and training quarter horses. These horses are highly regarded for their ability to herd cattle and are popular in competitions showcasing skills such as reining, cutting, roping and barrel racing. The Perkins Ranch horse bloodlines have yielded millions of dollars for their owners. Mr. Perkins was raised in this business, and he considers his most notable achievement to be carrying on his father's legacy. His father, the youngest of 11 children, built Frank Perkins Quarter Horses from the ground up. Together, he and Mr. Perkins accumulated nearly 650 acres of prime ranching land while establishing a horse program. The business has been breeding horses continuously for seven decades – a significant achievement. The ranch also received the 50-Year Legacy Breeders Award and multiple High Point Performance Awards from the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA).
