While both of her parents are lawyers, that was not the reason she chose to attend law school. Rather, she found that the profession offered her the opportunity to continuously educate herself, as the law is always evolving. She finds motivation with each new court opinion and legislative update at both the state and federal levels. Ms. Mead is the founder and managing attorney for Sarah A. Mead & Associates, a Las Vegas law firm she established in 2024. Specializing in construction law, she serves as both litigation and general counsel for her clients. After law school, Ms. Mead worked on a variety of complex civil litigation matters and found construction law fascinating because it encompasses unique aspects beyond standard contract disputes. For instance, there are various courses of performance, industry terms and other factors that come into play on a construction project that impact dispute resolution. This specialization has given her deeper expertise so she can better navigate her clients’ specific situations, making her a more effective lawyer. Ms. Mead began her legal career as an associate at Snell & Wilmer LLP in Denver in 2014. Her father worked at the same firm at the time, though in a different office. In 2015, she transferred to Snell & Wilmer's Las Vegas office. She later joined Jolley Urga Woodbury & Little in Las Vegas in 2016 before becoming of counsel at Mead Law Group LLP, a firm her father established, in 2017. She advanced to junior partner in 2019, serving in the position for five years, before opening her own firm. Ms. Mead’s trial experience is extensive, having proven herself to be highly effective in courtroom proceedings. Since 2019, she has participated in numerous trials and arbitration proceedings, gaining courtroom experience that is often uncommon among litigators, as most cases settle before trial. In 2022, Ms. Mead served as lead trial counsel in a complex trial involving a dispute between her client, a general contractor, and a medical marijuana dispensary, overseeing all aspects of the trial.
