RODRIGUEZ Inclined toward engineering in his youth, Juan A. Rodriguez achieved a BEE from the City College of New York in 1962 and MEE from New York University in 1963. Now a renowned information technology executive, he has served as vice president of strategy for Insight Photonic Solutions, Inc., since 2012. Throughout his career, he has also excelled in executive-level capacities with UbiFocal, Appian Ventures, Exabyte Corp., Ecrix Corp., Vixel, Datasonix, Sweetwater Corp., Storage Tech Corp. and IBM. Additionally, he was a professor of electrical energy, computer engineering and engineering management and a co-executive director of the Deming Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Colorado. A life fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Mr. Rodriguez maintains affiliation with the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers, Boulder Chamber of Commerce and Greater Denver Chamber of Commerce. Accruing numerous accolades, he was named Entrepreneur of the Decade in 1994, one of the Top 50 Technology Innovators by VAR Business in 2004 and received the Spirit Visionary Award from the Boulder Chamber of Commerce in 2004. In 2011, he earned an honorary DSc from the University of Colorado.
