137 Millennium - A Marquis Who’s Who Magazine FINANCE AND INSURANCE After witnessing her former husband obtain his veterinary degree, Cynthia L. Conger desired to pursue higher education to obtain credentials that will establish a foundation for a finance career. Receiving a BS in accounting in 1980 and an MBA in finance and economics in 1983, both from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, she became a certified public accountant in the State of Arkansas. Additionally, she is a certified financial planner and personal finance specialist. Subsequent to attaining her MBA, Ms. Conger co-founded and served as vice president and financial planner for the Arkansas Financial Group, Inc., from 1985 to 1995. Remaining with the financial planning firm, she then served as president between 1995 and 2005. Following her resignation from Arkansas Financial Group, Ms. Conger established Conger Wealth Management in Little Rock, which she headed from 2005 until selling her company in July of 2018. Concurrent to her roles in financial planning, she has also served as president and chief executive officer of her eponymously-named company, Cynthia L. Conger, CPA, P.A., since 1989. Among the highlights of her career, Ms. Conger is especially proud of founding three different financial planning companies, which she notes were all successful. In light of her successes, she was inducted into the Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame in 2020, having previously been honored with the President’s Award from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2011 and named to Worth Magazine’s Top 100 Wealth Managers in the U.S. between 2004 and 2008. Likewise, she was recognized in the Top 250 Financial Planners from 1998 to 2003, andWealth Manager Magazine named her to the 50 Distinguished Women in Wealth Management. Ms. Conger has maintained affiliation with the Financial Planning Association and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Notably, she served on the national board of directors of the International Association for Financial Planning. Civically involved as well, Ms. Conger is a donor to the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas, and board member of the Foundation Fund Board of the University of Arkansas, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra Board and Center for Financial Planning Advisory Board.
